Line Edit
You’ve finished your final draft.
Now, it’s time to tighten your language so your work reads like a book right off the shelf.
You know you’re ready to get a line edit if…
You’re happy with the structure, pacing, and characters in your manuscript
You’re unsure if your tone and voice are consistent throughout your draft
You’re about to send your work to an agent or editor and want to make sure each i is dotted and t is crossed
When you work with me, you’ll be confident your writing is the best it can be.
A line edit includes:
Margin notes throughout your manuscript
These notes will pinpoint and correct grammatical errors, highlight inconsistencies in voice, clarify language, and point out any literary ticks you may have.
A one-to-two-page editorial letter
The editorial letter summarizes any issues I found and explains the reasoning behind corrections I suggest.
A final call
Our final call is to discuss how to implement the suggestions from the edit and to answer any final questions.
Your writing should be polished and refined to reflect the professional you are.
I’m the type of editor that spends hours scrutinizing one paragraph until it’s perfect. Let me bring that level of diligence to your writing to make it sing.
Love from past clients.
“Liz worked fast, offered fantastic advice on query letter content, and gave insight and resources to demystify the process for this first-time author. Liz was gracious and generous with her time, easy to understand, and friendly. She went beyond my expectations, was enthusiastic and encouraging about the project, and gave me recommendations for selecting the right agent. Overall, a fantastic value offered. You will be in good hands with this experienced writer and editor.”
